When you load balance for eBay US (USD) or eBay UK (GBP), your balance ends up lower than the amount you pay, because fees from two separate sources are deducted. The first is the payment processor you pay through (card via Stripe, PayPal, Payoneer, or Wise). Its fees are set by the processor, not by Yaballe, and any amount you see is only an estimate that can differ from the final charge. If you pay in a currency other than your balance currency, a conversion fee may also apply, and paying from a source in your balance currency avoids it.
The second source is Yaballe, which charges a fee on each balance load and a fee on each successfully placed order. Rates can differ between accounts, so the article lists no numbers, and your exact breakdown appears on the Yaballe > Balance page after each load. Payoneer and Wise are usually the cheapest options when paying from a balance in the right currency, while cards and PayPal tend to cost more.
Prerequisites
- A Yaballe account selling on eBay US or UK. These are the only marketplaces where Yaballe offers fulfillment.
- One of the supported payment methods: credit card, PayPal, Payoneer, or Wise.
Description
Understanding the fees
When you load balance, two kinds of fees can reduce the amount that reaches your balance: fees charged by your payment provider, and fees charged by Yaballe. They are separate, and it helps to know who charges what.
1. Payment processor fees (external, estimated only)
These fees are charged by the external payment processor you pay through (for example Stripe, PayPal, Payoneer, or Wise), not by Yaballe. Yaballe doesn’t set them and can’t change them. They are deducted from the amount you load.
Each processor sets its own rates, which depend on your country, your currency, and your funding source. Because of this, any fee shown in Yaballe or described in this article is an estimate. The actual fee is determined by the processor and may differ.
For reference only, typical rates are approximately:
- Credit card (via Stripe): a percentage plus a small fixed fee, with an additional percentage for international cards.
- PayPal: a percentage plus a fixed fee, with an additional percentage for international transactions.
- Payoneer: usually lower, especially when paying from another Payoneer balance.
- Wise: usually lower, especially when paying from a balance in the same currency.
Processors can change their rates at any time. Check your provider’s current pricing for exact figures.
Currency conversion fees: If you pay in a different currency from your balance currency (for example EUR or JPY into a USD balance, or USD into a GBP balance), your processor or bank may charge an additional conversion fee. This fee is also set by them, not by Yaballe, and it varies by provider and currency pair. To avoid it, pay from a source in your balance currency.
2. Yaballe fees
Yaballe charges for its own service in two ways:
- Balance load fee: a fee on each balance load, deducted from the loaded amount.
- Order fee: a fee for each order that is placed successfully, deducted from your balance. It is not charged when an order isn’t placed.
Yaballe’s rates can differ between accounts, so they aren’t listed in this article. After each load, you can see the full breakdown on your Yaballe > Balance page.
3. Agency Operations Fee (agency-managed accounts only)
If your account is managed by an agency or store operator, you'll see one more line in the fee breakdown: Store operation fees (Operator/Agency fee). This is an Agency Operations Fee. It appears only on managed accounts; if you manage your own account, you won't see it.
This fee is set by the agency that manages your account, for the agency's own services. It is separate from Yaballe's own charges and is not a Yaballe service fee. The rate is decided by your agency, so any question about it — including changes or refunds — should be directed to your agency.
The fee in effect and the amount deducted are shown on the Load Balance screen before you confirm each load, and in the transaction details on your Balance page afterwards.
How it adds up
All fees are calculated on the amount you pay and deducted together:
- Payment processor fee (estimated)
- Yaballe balance load fee
- Agency Operations Fee — managed accounts only
- Currency conversion fee, if you paid in a different currency
What remains is credited to your balance.
Q&A
Why is my balance lower than the amount I loaded?
Fees are deducted from the loaded amount: Yaballe’s load fee, your payment processor’s fee, and a currency conversion fee if one applies. The breakdown appears on your Balance page after the transaction.
Is the processor fee shown exact?
No. It’s an estimate. The processor sets the final fee, so it can differ slightly from what you expected.
Who charges the processor fee?
Your payment provider charges it, not Yaballe. Yaballe has no control over it.
Which payment method is cheapest?
It’s usually Payoneer or Wise when you pay from a balance already in your marketplace’s currency. Cards and PayPal are typically more expensive, especially when paying from outside the US or UK. Rates vary, so check with your provider.
When is the order fee charged?
Only when an order is placed successfully.
Can I load balance for other marketplaces?
No. Balance loading is available only for eBay US (USD) and eBay UK (GBP).
What is the "Store operation fee" on my breakdown?
It's an Agency Operations Fee, set by the agency that manages your account. It appears only on agency-managed accounts, and questions about it should go to your agency.
