The VeRO & Words Filter options help protect your eBay store from restricted brands and risky keywords that may violate eBay’s Verified Rights Owner (VeRO) program or other marketplace policies. This article explains how Yaballe maintains its VeRO list, how to configure these settings correctly, and how to scan and manage existing listings to reduce account risk.
Prerequisites / Requirements
- An active Yaballe account
- Access to Settings > Advanced permissions
- (Optional) Account connected to a cluster
- Existing or planned eBay listings managed via Yaballe
Step-by-Step Instructions / Solution
1. Understand How Yaballe Updates Its VeRO Brand List
Yaballe maintains a continuously updated VeRO brand database so you don’t need to build one from scratch.
Brands are added to Yaballe’s VeRO list through the following sources:
eBay Official VeRO List – Scanned and refreshed every 24 hours.
eBay VeRO Alerts (API Users) – Automatically detected from VeRO-related eBay messages.
User Reports (Non-API Users) – VeRO cases reported to Yaballe Support via tickets with proof are added on demand.
Supplier Direct Claims – Supplier communications reported by users (outside of eBay auto-messages) are added on demand.
2. Configure VeRO & Words Filter Settings
Navigate to: Settings > Advanced > VeRO & Words Filter

It is imperative that you apply these settings from the get go. Any changes saved immediately to new listings. If your account is part of a cluster, changes apply to all connected accounts. |

b. Remove Keywords
This option removes risky or policy-sensitive keywords from item titles and descriptions.
- Keyword matching is case-insensitive.
- Useful for removing marketplace references, words hinting the presence of contact details and prohibited phrases (works on the whole phrase - whatever is in between two commas, not on individual parts of a phrase)
Commonly Removed Keywords (Examples):
| contact, contact us, customer service, call, email, website, asin, amazon, amazon's, aliexpress, refund, warranty, guarantee, replacement, lifetime, contact us, link below, get free, unconditionally, call us, tel, phone, @, Email, Mail, One day shipping, Free item, ®, amazon.com, www.amazon.com, www.aliexpress.com, aliexpress.com, walmart, www.walmart.com, wallmart.com, https://www.amazon.com/ss/help/contact, on our page, visit our website, visit our webpage, click here, shop, store, our store, aliexpress.com, visit our site, from mobile site on Aliexpress, Follow, instagram, Youtube. |
c. Auto Remove source's brand name from title & description
Automatically removes the source item’s brand name from the title and description.
Applies to Amazon-sourced items only.
The brand name is taken from the item’s Brand item specific.
d. Auto-replace brand with "Does not apply"
Automatically sets the eBay Brand item specific to “Does not apply.”
Useful when selling unbranded or generic items.
e. Block by Keywords
- Add your own list of keywords to block items from being listed.
- Recommended matching fields: Brand and Title.
Advanced Use Case:
- This feature can also be used to block categories, if the category name appears in the title, brand, or description.
f. Block by ASIN
Add ASINs individually or in bulk (comma-separated or one per line).
Any ASIN added here is blocked regardless of other VeRO or keyword rules.
Run a VeRO Brand Scan on Existing Listings
To apply VeRO checks to existing listings:
- Open the Repricer page.
- Click the VeRO Scan button (top menu).
- Review the results:
Green shield with results → VeRO brand items found.
Green shield with no results → No VeRO brand items detected.
- Decide how to handle flagged listings (best practice: delete them).

Troubleshooting - Auto-Lister
When using the Auto-Lister, Yaballe may display VeRO-related warnings to help you identify potential policy risks before a listing goes live. These warnings do not always mean the item must be removed, but they do require review.
There are three types of VeRO warnings in the Auto-Lister:
VERO BRAND = DO NOT LIST
This warning indicates that the item’s brand is identified as a VeRO-restricted brand.
Listing this item violates eBay policy.
The item should not be listed under any circumstances.
Best Practice: Do not list the item.
VERO IN TITLE
This warning means a VeRO-related term was detected in the item title. You should review the context carefully and determine which of the following applies:
The word is a VeRO-restricted brand
→ The item should not be listed. The word is a common term that is also used as a brand name (for example, “Always”)
→ The item may be acceptable, depending on context. The item is a replica
→ Replicas are forbidden on eBay and must not be listed. The item is related to a VeRO brand (for example, “iPhone 14 Cable”)
→ This is usually allowed as long as the title is phrased correctly, such as:
FOR … / COMPATIBLE WITH … / FITS …
Important Note:
When listing from AliExpress, VERO IN TITLE is often effectively the same as VERO BRAND, because many AliExpress items do not have a defined brand in the lister.
VERO IN DESCRIPTION
This warning indicates that a VeRO-related term appears in the item description.
This is typically a warning signal, not an automatic block.
It commonly occurs when a brand name is also a common word (for example, “always”).
Your options are to:
Remove the word from the description
Rephrase the description
Avoid the listing entirely if the risk is too high
The final decision depends on your risk tolerance and listing strategy.
