How to Protect Your Store with VeRO and Words Filter?

VERO & WORDS FILTER options helps you protect your store from restricted brands and words that eBay might potentially recognize as violating its Verified Rights Owner Program (VeRO) or other policies.
It is imperative that you apply these settings from the get go.

How Does Yaballe Update it's Brands VeRO List (and how can you)?

Yaballe maintains an up-to-date eBay VeRO list - officially published by eBay (updated continuously every 24 hours), as well as crowd sources by reporting of our user base - so you don't have to build the list yourself, but you can certainly add on top of it and contribute.

Brands enter Yaballe's VeRO list in one of these ways: 

  1. eBay's official VeRO list in scanned once every 24 hours and Yaballe updates its list accordingly.
  2. eBay VeRO alert messages sent to Yaballe API users are automatically scanned and updated in Yaballe's list accordingly.
  3. Non-API users reporting VeRO case to Yaballe support are added on-demand to Yaballe's list. 
  4. Users reporting to our support of Supplier's direct contact with them (not via eBay auto message) are added on-demand to Yaballe's list. 

 

 

 

Setting up VeRO and Words Filter in Yaballe

The settings options available in Settings > ADVANCED > VERO & WORDS FILTER. 

Note:  Any changes to VERO & WORDS FILTER Options, once saved, will apply effective immediately to new listings.

  • VeRO Strictness:

    Vero Strictness - Brand

    (Strongly Recommended)

    Filter out listings based on their brand, as shown in the item specifics, if the brand is listed in Yaballe VeRO list. 

    This will prevent the item from being listed altogether. 

    Best Practice: check this option. 

    Vero Strictness - Title
    (Recommended)

    Filter out listings based on their brand, as shown in the item title, if the brand is listed in Yaballe VeRO list.

    This will prevent the item from being listed altogether. 

    Best Practice: check this option. 

    Vero Strictness - Description

    Filter out listings based on their brand, as shown in the item description, if the brand is listed in Yaballe VeRO list.

    This will prevent the item from being listed altogether. 

    Best Practice: if you mostly use the bulk lister, leave unchecked as it will potentially block the majority of your listings. 



  • Words Filter:

    Words Filter - List

    Identify words that are listed in the Words Filter List, and appear in the item title and description - then delete the word from the eBay item description and title or just warn about them (per the behavior preference specified). 

    This won't prevent the item from being listed, however may remove some words from its title and description (per your preference). 

    Note that words match is case insensitive. 

    Best Practice: customers typically include these words (but not only): contact, contact us, customer service, call, email, website, asin, amazon, amazon's, aliexpress, refund, warranty, guarantee, replacement, lifetime, contact us, link below, get free, unconditionally, call us, tel, phone, @, Email, Mail, One day shipping, Free item, ®, amazon.com, www.amazon.com, www.aliexpress.com, aliexpress.com, walmart, www.walmart.com, wallmart.com, https://www.amazon.com/ss/help/contact, on our page, visit our website, visit our webpage, click here, shop, store, our store, aliexpress.com, visit our site, from mobile site on Aliexpress, Follow, instagram, Youtube.  
    Words Filter - Add Brand Name to Words Filter

    Implicitly include any brand name that appears in the source item specifics, in the Words Filter List - then delete the word from the eBay item description and title or just warn about them (per the behavior preference specified).

    This won't prevent the item from being listed, however may remove some words from its title and description (per your preference). 

    Note that words match is case insensitive. 
    Words Filter - Warn on Auto-Lister

    Warn in the Auto-Lister about any item for which item title or description include words found in the Words Filter List, and/or implicit brand names if the Add Brand Name to Words Filter is checked.

    Note that this option is mutually exclusive to the Remove Words from item title & description (namely, you can choose either, or)

    Words Filter - Remove Words from item title & description
    (Auto & Bulk Lister)

    Delete from an item's title or description words that are listed in the Words Filter List, and/or implicit brand names if the Add Brand Name to Words Filter is checked.

    Note that this option is mutually exclusive to the Warn on Auto-Lister (namely, you can choose either, or)

 

How to Run a Brand VeRO Scan on existing Listings?

 

To apply recent VeRO scanning options to existing listings's brand, use the VeRO Scan button on the top right of the Monitor page.mceclip5.png

After pressing on the Vero Scan button, the shield on the button will become green and in case the scanner will find VeRO items, it will show them to you as a list, allowing you to further decide what you want to do with them (best practice is to delete them). In case you have no VeRO brand items on your account at the moment, nothing will show while the shield is green.

 

Notes:

  • The VERO SCAN button allows you to check VERO brand only - based on the brand of the source ID as seen in the Lister (if you have manually changed the brand to a VERO brand we won't be able to catch it).
  • This feature is available for certain plans only (updated from time to time - please check on PRICING page or consult our support on chat).

 

Understanding VeRO Warnings (when using auto-lister)

There are 3 types of VeRO warnings in the AUTO-LISTER:

  1. VERO BRAND = DO NOT LIST
  2. VERO IN TITLE
    Check whether the VeRO word is:
    • A brand, or
    • A common word that is also used as a brand name (e.g. "always"), or
    • A replica (also forbidden in eBay), or
    • A product that relates to a VeRO Brand (e.g. iPhone14 Cable) - which is usually okay to list, as long as the title is phrased like this: FOR ... COMPATIBLE WITH ... FITS ...

      Please note that if you list from AliExpress, VERO in title is often equal to VERO brand, because most of AliExpress items do not have specified brand in the lister.
  3. VERO in DESCRIPTION
    VeRO in the description of the product, is typically just a warning signal, that hapפens because the name of a brand is also a common word (e.g. "always") - it's your decision if to delete the words, rephrase or delete the list altogether.
